The Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music is the only permanent comprehensive music award in the country, approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and co-sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Musicians Association. Founded in 2001, it now sets up a performance award (vocal music, Western musical instruments, ethnic musical instruments) competition. Through the competition, outstanding young music talents are selected and commended and rewarded.
